The Lectures on Structural members for long-span structures and the use of steel truss members along with the types of trusses in use was elaborated by Mr.Karthigeyan (Associates Structural and Geotech Consultant). The Lecture was to guide the third-year students about the structural stability and alternate techniques adopted in designing in accordance with strength and aesthetic values. Practical problems and solutions were discussed and workshop on designing the structural members for a convention center was conducted following the lecture.
